The concept of Carpe Diem was to develop and brand a woman-owned vintage rock-inspired tattoo parlor in New York City. We drew much of our visual inspiration and tagline from Maud Wagner, the first tattooed woman. The moth and snake both come from her arm tattoos, and represent both the beauty and ferocity of women. Carpe Diem is meant to be welcoming to all, while still celebrating women who break boundaries. The typefaces used are Junyper, and Hudson EM created by Taylor Murphy.
